Hematocrit by malmida Hematocrit by malmida
download for most detail. i realize this appears plain compared to my normal work.

Hematocrit. A blade that is the center of a lot of drama in my "main story". it eventually ends up in the hands of a moderately skilled blood mage that specializes in limb reattachment (of a race that is dominated by the medical field)

Some weapons still remain from the War Era, and Hematocrit is a rare one to come across. Its one of the few weapons not built from living flesh, but is still just as strong, if not stronger.

Hematocrit uses the blood collected during strikes and concentrates the mineral iron from the blood into an extremely thin razor like wire at the edge of the blade. in a sense it slowly becomes more and more sharp/dangerous with each strike, and achieves singular death strikes after taking a few lives.
While it sets itself apart from the more gruesome weapons of the blood race, it still follows the same basic rules that makes their weapons terrifying.

made in autocad 2007 (oh and i cant believe ive yet to make a rapier. the german rapier is my second most favorite melee weapon, behind a spear)

You said this is a weapon from your main story/comic. Can we read that story somewhere? because organic based weapons (or not) are really interessting in my opinion.

Makes sense, a bit. Rapiers are meant to be stabbing weapons so it can draw blood to empower its cutting edge.

This is just my personal preference but I think that there should be some sweepings in the guard. For a weapon that so deeply involves itself with a fluid like blood, I'm getting an impression, from the design of the guard, that the weapon is very dense and heavy and not dynamic and smooth.

My preferences aside, there are a lot of positives in this work. I like that the details are present in the places where it should be and doesn't appear excessive. A weapon of such caliber should look rather fancy.
